Roger Edmunds
Roger Edmunds, MT graduated from the University of Ballarat with a Bachelor's degree in psychology. One year of his university study was completed as an exchange student in the United States wherein he was exposed to myofascial release. After reading John Barnes' book, "Healing Ancient Wounds," he was inspired to pursue training in myofascial release with John Barnes. After completing a massage therapy certificate in Australia, Roger returned to the States for extensive John Barnes' Myofascial Release training. Roger has owned and operated a myofascial release private practice in Victoria since January 2007.
Roger's main interest in his career has been the study of emotions and their effect on healing. Disillusioned with the limited understanding presented by western psychology, Roger lived and worked in Southeast Asia for three years. Discovering myofascial release renewed his enthusiasm for authentically helping people, particularly those with emotional trauma and mood disorders. Roger has Cert IV in Massage Therapy and is a Member of the Australian Association of Massage Therapists.
Joni Edmunds
Joni Edmunds, DPT graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology in 2002. She completed her post-graduate work at Gannon University in 2004, receiving her Master's and Doctorate degrees in 2004 and 2008 in physical therapy. Joni has worked full time in inpatient rehabilitation, long term care, and outpatient settings. In October 2007, she joined the staff at John Barnes' Myofascial Release Treatment Center in Paoli, Pennsylvania as a full time treating physical therapist and was there for two years. Now in private practice, Joni has since relocated to Australia.
Her myofascial release journey began as a high school student when she read John Barnes' book, "Healing Ancient Wounds". Intrigued by the book, she spent time volunteering in a privately owned out patient clinic in her home town that utilized myofascial release. Through observation, it was clear that patients were receiving exceptional care and experiencing authentic results. Thus, she pursued a degree in physical therapy with the intention of learning myofascial release. She began utilizing the myofascial release techniques and principles with patients after completing the Myofascial Release I Seminar in 2005. Joni continues to repeat John Barnes' Myofascial Release Seminars and is an assistant instructor for Myofascial Release Seminars. It is clear to Joni that Myofascial Release is the most comprehensive method to facilitate authentic healing.
